Fetty Wap Sparks Frenzy in First Show Since Prison Release!
Fetty Wap has previously stated that he prefers not to discuss his prison experience in his new music, and we will see when that music is released.
Since his release from prison, according to HNHH, Fetty Wap has faced some drama, including allegations from the mothers of his children. Nevertheless, he recently had the opportunity to perform again for the first time since his incarceration, which was a cathartic experience for him during a particularly busy period.
Social media captured a clip of the New Jersey artist performing his popular songs "Trap Queen" and "My Way" at a club on the East Coast, with fans enthusiastically singing along to his memorable choruses. He appeared quite energized, and his vocals sounded impressive for someone who had been out of practice for some time.
This performance has sparked significant interest in Fetty Wap's forthcoming music, although he may not take the direction that some fans anticipate. He recently shared with The Breakfast Club that he does not wish to create music centered around his prison experience.
"Honestly, I don't feel like that's important," Fetty commented. "I served my time. There are many rappers who have been incarcerated – I hate to put it that way – who have returned home. If they choose to discuss their jail experiences, that's their choice. For me, I did my time with my peers, and they all said, 'Leave this behind you. When you walk out, leave it here. We want to see you on TV.' In prison, there are three things you don't turn the TV off from: sports, news, and Love & Hip Hop."
"'We want to see you on TV, we want to hear you on the radio. In 20 days, I want to hear something new online,'" he added. "That was the kind of motivation I had. So, to come home and talk about that stuff feels pointless. I served my time there. [...] [My writing] will evolve, I suppose. It will always change, especially when you're aiming to be creative. I just feel like I have a greater appreciation for music.
Fetty recently celebrated his official welcome home party Saturday, January 17th at the Harbor NYC where he was showered with tons of love and surrounded by supportive fans.
Fetty Wap spent three years in prison for drug trafficking before being released. He expressed gratitude to artists like 50 Cent, Coi Leray, and Chief Keef for their support during his time in prison.
