Teyana Taylor is kicking off her new year winning her first ever Golden Globe award.

According to USAToday, Taylor, who is also a Grammy-nominated singer and dancer, reached a significant career milestone at the 2026 Golden Globes by winning her first Golden Globe during Sunday’s ceremony.

The star of "One Battle After Another" won the award for best supporting actress, surpassing notable contenders like Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Ariana Grande, Amy Madigan, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

Taylor started her speech with a light-hearted reference to her whale tail cutout dress. "Wait, see my party in the back," she joked as she turned for the camera. However, she soon became emotional as the importance of her victory sank in, getting choked up at several moments during her speech.

"I almost didn’t even prepare a speech because I didn’t think I was [going to win]," said Taylor, 35. "Thank you to the Golden Globe voters for recognizing me and reminding me that purpose always finds its moment."

Taylor also acknowledged her director for "One Battle After Another," Paul Thomas Anderson, whom she affectionately called Paul "Let 'em cook" Thomas Anderson.

"Thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless," Taylor expressed. "I love you. We love you, and thank you so much for making space for me and our whole cast."

Released in September, "One Battle After Another" earned $206.1 million globally and won best picture at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. On Saturday, January 10, the film also led the AARP Movies For Grownups Awards with three wins, including best screenwriter (Anderson), best ensemble, and best supporting actress (Regina Hall).

Taylor is poised to maintain her success in film this year with roles in the upcoming movies "The Rip" and "72 Hours."

In a touching tribute to her Black heritage, Taylor concluded her speech by dedicating her award to "my Brown sisters and little Brown girls watching."
