Justin Bieber Turns Up the Heat in Gym Shorts and Socks During Grammys 'Yukon' Set

A shirtless Justin Bieber graced the Grammy Awards stage for the first time since 2022 on Sunday, delivering a raw performance of his hit song "Yukon."

The artist donned only gym shorts and socks as he layered an electric guitar and drum sample, reminiscent of Ed Sheeran, while singing over it. The camera often shifted to his wife, Hailey Bieber, in the audience, who appeared very proud as he performed the song he dedicated to her.

According to Variety, Bieber's performance follows a period of limited stage appearances. He made a brief appearance last year as a guest during a SZA concert in Los Angeles and performed at private events, but has largely maintained a low profile since he canceled his tour in 2022. His appearance at the Grammys hints at his upcoming headlining role during both weekends of Coachella in April.

The pop star made a notable comeback to the music scene last year with two "Swag" albums, the first of which was released unexpectedly in July, followed by the second in September. Both albums were significantly more subdued than his previous pop offerings, producing the singles "Daisies" and "First Place."

Bieber received four nominations for this year's Grammys. "Swag" was nominated for both album of the year and best pop vocal album, while "Daisies" earned a nomination for best pop solo performance, and "Yukon" was recognized in the best R&B performance category. Over his career, he has received 23 nominations and has won two Grammys, first in 2016 for his collaboration on Jack Ü's "Where Are Ü Now" and again in 2021 for "10,000 Hours," his duet with Dan + Shay.

Alongside Bieber's performance, the Grammys showcased acts from Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Reba McEntire, Rosé, Tyler, the Creator, and a best new artist medley featuring Olivia Dean, Katseye, Sombr, Alex Warren, the Marías, Lola Young, Leon Thomas, and Addison Rae.
