BET's 2019 Hip Hop Awards

October 9th, 2019

Last night on October 9 was the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards hosted by Lil Duval. The event actually took place on October 5, but didn't air until last night. This year's award show was definitely different. BET incorporated a rap battle along with the notable cyphers that take place and the night was filled with laughter and good vibes.

Opening up the award show, Megan Thee Stallion performs her summer jams, 'Hot Girl Summer' and 'Cash Sh*t' with a guest performance by DaBaby. BET also blessed us with performances by YBN Cordae, Rapsody, Lil Baby, Rick Ross & T-Pain, and Saweetie in which who turned the award show into an ATL reunion. Saweetie performed her hit record 'My Type' and brought out ATL OG's, Lil Jon and Petey Pablo for a Freek-A-Leek, 'Turn Down For What', and 'Get Low' medley. Also on the stage we had the hip hop legend, Lil Kim receive her I Am Hip Hop Award with an amazing performance following right after. Lil Kim had the crowd going crazy, per the usual, with her well known number one throwbacks as well as with her new hit single, 'Found You' featuring O.T. Genasis and City Girls. Also, taking home $25k, we had rap battle winner, DNA, take home the crown in the finale battle against T-Top. Last nights award show was definitely one for the books.
